Traditional and alternative assessment instruments
The Florida Educator Accomplished Practices:
ASSESSMENT:
1.2-Student products, papers, or course assignments requiring analyses of preK-12 standardized and/or classroom assessments to determine cognitive, social, linguistic, cultural, emotional, and physical needs prior to instructional planning.
1.4-Student-developed traditional and alternative assessment instruments submitted for portfolio inclusion or course grade.
TESTS
Traditionally, after each unit students will take an examination to assess what they have learned.
QUIZZES
Quizzes can be given intermittently too in order to assess their progress and see if they're prepared for the exam.
PRE- and POST- ASSESSMENTS
These can be given before and after a lesson in order to assess the students prior knowledge and the knowledge they gained from the lesson. This gives a good indication on what the students are grasping from the lesson taught.
RUBRICS
Project Based Lesson will be given to the students with a rubric including individual points to inform the students what they will be graded on.
NOTEBOOK CHECKS
This was done by my Mentor Teacher in order to promote organization skills and keeping their work to refer to.
LAB ASSESSMENTS
Doing lab worksheets allows hands-on workers who may have difficulty with test taking, the opportunity to show what they have learned during the unit. This is especially important in a science based classroom.
BELOW ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF ASSESSMENTS GIVEN THROUGHOUT TEACHING DIFFERENT COURSES.
